Jtec Industries’ all-mechanical Bi-Directional Steering Control System allows most carts or trailers to be maneuvered instantly in perpendicular directions, always with at least one “rigid” caster facing in the direction desired. This maximizes operator control of a heavy cart.

A simple turn of a waist-high handle allows one rigid caster to lock in the direction of intended travel. Trailer use would result in two rigid casters to be locked in the desired direction.

For instance, when a long cart or trailer is pulled down a narrow aisle to a desired location in a facility, this Steering Control allows it to be pushed sideways, straight into its new lineside space, where it otherwise could not be easily maneuvered, maximizing space needs using narrow aisles.

This solution eliminates the need to move heavy materials on all-swivel wheel carts, increasing safety. Operators often strain to control those carts’ movements, adding injury factors. In addition, trains of all-swivel wheel carts cannot be tugged unless lifted off the ground due to uncontrolled drift and movement behind a tugger.
