The new portable Rack Pack from Box On Demand® changes the operating dynamics of pack stations. This product is designed for areas where multi-product orders are the norm and where optimal sized shipping boxes are preferred over excessive filler. Coupled with a BOD® on demand box machine, the Rack Pack offers increased throughput toward meeting outbound goals.

Operation:
Order is scanned at the pack station. The Rack Pack technology instantly displays three optimal box options for the specific order and provides the associated bin locations. The touch screen display offers; best fit, 2nd, and 3rd best fit from the rack. The packer selects the best box based on current inventory, hitting the button on the screen to indicate the selection. As the order is packed, the Rack Pack has simultaneously sent the box data and bin number to the BOD box machine. The replenishment box is made and label printed.

Use Flexibility:
The Rack Pack allows fulfillment centers to use the system in a box-first or order-first manner. Box-first tells the packer the optimal box selection based on rack inventory. Order-first delivers fully right-sized boxes to a pack station.

• Right-Sized Pack Stations – Ability to pair a pick-cart with the Rack Pack to ship orders in right-sized boxes. This feature reduces DIM charges to lowest possible levels.
