Description of your Product's or Service's design and/or technological innovation
The Puck Hi-Res is a patented, high resolution, real-time 3D LiDAR sensor that is designed to support its core function. It is compact, lightweight and sports a circular shape. Dimensionally, the Puck Hi-Res is a palm-sized cylinder-shaped LiDAR sensor that is 103mm in diameter and 72mm in height, weighing in at 830 grams or 1.82 pounds. The cylinder shape of the Puck Hi-Res supports a non-visible, 360-degree spinning 903 nm laser that has 16 channels, generating 300,000 points per second. The sensor is embedded in a housing that can withstand a temperature range from -10 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius. It is used in applications, such as autonomous material handling equipment, that requires greater resolution in the captured 3D point cloud. The Hi-Res’ core function is to allow Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to “see” surroundings in a 360-degree field of view. While the sensor spins in 360 degrees, it is capturing real-time 3D data, including distance, reflectivity measurements, and rotational angles, allowing AGVs to complete jobs autonomously.
Three most important features of your Product/Service
The most important features of the Puck Hi-Res™ are its spinning LiDAR sensor, size and exterior. The Hi-Res' 3D spinning LiDAR sensor takes in everything around an object, allowing it to maneuver both through static or uncontrolled environments. Another feature is the Hi-Res' small form factor. It captures large amounts of data without taking up much space, allowing it to integrate with other machines. Lastly, and equally important, is the sensor’s exterior. The sensor can withstand a temperature range from -10 to +60 degrees Celsius, allowing the sensor to perform in environments with extreme temperatures, as needed.

Puck Hi-Res
Velodyne LiDAR’s Puck Hi-Res is a higher resolution version of the Puck™ and used in applications that require greater resolution in the captured 3D geospatial data. The Puck Hi-Res has identical performance to VLP-16 with the only difference in the vertical field of view (FoV) which is 20° instead of 30°. The tighter channel distribution is 1.33° instead of 2.00° between each channel.
