TOUGHJacket™ Hose utilizes a proprietary jacket material that offers an extremely low coefficient of friction for maximum abrasion resistance. The hoses also offer ultra-low length change under pressure, making then an ideal solution for boom or cable tracks. In these applications, abrasion and length change are the biggest contributors to hose failure. The SAE acceptable change in length specification is +2% to -4% and since most hoses shrink at least 2% in a constrained environment, this can be disastrous for the hose and cable tracks. When placing mast hose over a sheave it is typically installed under tension and should a hose shrink under pressure, the tension level could increase 400% causing damage to the hose and pulleys. The hose could also be deformed beyond its elastic limit causing the hose to loosen on the sheave and fall out the sheave. If a customer is running 100 feet of hose in a boom they must accommodate for the extra 4 feet of hose that will be required due to shrink or run the risk of the hose pulling the fitting off the hose or destroying the cable track.

They offer ultra-low length change under pressure, with 563TJ offering less than +/-1%. The small O.D. makes routing easier in cable tracks and the ability to bond the hose enables the customer to easily pack and manage more elements per track or, to eliminate the track all together.
